Aging Report
Definition
An aging report groups outstanding invoices or bills by how long they have been unpaid. Common buckets are Current, 1–30 days past due, 31–60 days past due, and 61–90 days past due.
Example
An A/R aging report shows Customer A owes $1,000 (Current), Customer B owes $500 (1–30 days past due), and Customer C owes $300 (31–60 days past due). The total A/R is $1,800.
Why It Matters
Aging reports help bookkeepers spot overdue accounts, estimate collectible amounts, and follow up with customers or vendors.
